Welcome to Fantastic Weekly to follow our development process on our upcoming game: FANTASTIC ENERGY.

Melissa:
This week i have been working on our games store. I have been making the basic UI layout for the store, and have (yet again) struggled with making it scale correctly with different screen sizes. Luckily the internet is full of useful information on the matter, so just need to keep working on it and learning new.
GRAPHICS
Noora:
This week I’ve been implementing the new shader and faked shadows to the project. It takes some time since every character and object has to be set up separately. I also made some different shapes for the shadows since not every object is round enough to have a circular shadow. Hopefully I’ll be less busy with other stuff next week so I can fully implement the new shader and maybe have something cool to show in the next week’s Fantastic Weekly.
So instead of having something completely new this time, I’ll share something old. Just to show that even though we still have a lot to do, we’ve also gone quite far already!
Joviaal:
Cloudy caterpillars, the small and big ones. I and my teammates thought hard how we could implement the cloudy feel. And because we planned that the cloud part is going to stretch a lot in animations, it made texture planning quite hard. There were also ideas about particles, separate 3D objects etc, but finally, we decided that the cloudy parts are a simple texture. I'll fake the cloudy feel with a gradient, every segment has its own gradient and lower parts have a darker color, like a casting shadow inside of the cloud. In the end, I’m really happy with how they look now, and can’t wait to see them animated!
Random cloud fact: A small amount of aerosols increase, but a big amount of aerosols decreased the formation of clouds and the rain. That’s why big amounts of aerosols are really dangerous for hot countries where the possibilities of rain are already rare.
The small caterpillar. Simple and cute.
The Big caterpillar. Noora suggested highlighting how big it is and make its eyes really small. I also made the same thing with the bow tie. Now it looks HUGE!
Aapo:
This week I modelled some new craftables. I got inspired by kiddie pools and 90's iconic inflatable chairs. I think these turned out pretty fun!
Thanks for reading and cya next week!
With love,
